Intelligence Services ::

Rowet Intelligence Service (RIS):

After the south declared independence, many talented NIS officers with family and property ties to the South left Amundi. Joining with military and police personnel also defecting from the North, the group came together to create the RIS.

While RIS is still in its infancy, their combined knowledge of NIS tools and tactics give RIS a strong operational advantage. Additionally, because all RIS officers are legally culpable for treason under Amundi law, the group shares a fierce loyalty to the southern cause.

RIS operates 4 sectors without differing support staff from operational staff overall.

Operations - Operations handles day-to-day intelligence-collection capabilities for RIS, mostly centered around Human Intelligence.

Cyber -  Cyber handles the RIS's intelligence capabilities in the digital world. Cyber capabilities are limited due to a lack of Southern funding. Operations center largely on open source intelligence and social media influence efforts.

Support - The support branch provides all material and facility support staff such as disguise, false docs, engineers, janitors, etc. Operations support staff are kept separate from other support staff.

Special Projects - Composed of RIS members as needed, this group only comes to handle high-risk/high-impact covert clandestine operations assigned by rebel leadership. These actions mostly take the form of paramilitary operations and infil/exfil operations.

How the RIS evolves will be based on the decisions made in the field, and their resulting consequences.

Namaan Intelligence Service (NIS):

Shortly after the establishment of the Sutulist regime in Namaan, the NIS was formed. The NIS's had a focus on gathering information on criminal and anti-Sutulist entities in Namaan.

As Namaan prospered, NIS responsibilities expanded to include intelligence collection activities against countries sharing Namaan's border.  Today the NIS continues to collect intelligence on neighbors, adversaries, and dissident groups. The NIS is separated between four distinct branches.

Operations - NIS's operations branch houses a majority of the NIS's Human, Strategic, and Military Intelligence.

Cyber - NIS's cyber branch houses NIS's Signals, Open Source, and commercial/economic intelligence capabilities.

Support - The support branch provides all material and facility support staff such as disguise, false docs, engineers, janitors, etc. Operations support staff are kept separate from other support staff.

Special Actions -  The Special Actions staff mostly consists of specialized infiltration and paramilitary teams. It also houses multiple teams dedicated to action against political and religious dissidents. Staff from all three of the other branches are assigned to help these teams in their specific areas of responsibility.
