Climate:

Namaan is mostly a desert climate characterized by extreme heat during the day, an abrupt drop in temperature at night, and very low annual rainfall. The average summer temperature is about 113º F (45° C), but readings of up to 129º F (54° C) are not unusual.

Wetter, cooler areas can be found farther south where the savanna lies, though rain does not fall more frequently there. The Western coast is influenced by the Indian Ocean monsoons. An average of 11 inches (300 millimeters) of rainfall occurs between October and March providing 60% of the annual precipitation.

For the rest of the country, rainfall is very low and unpredictable. The entire year's rainfall may consist of one or two local, heavy cloudbursts or thunderstorms.
